Tiggerlane wants to know everyone's Bucket List - at least 5 things I want to do before I die....especially the wacky and bizarre.
Well, it just so happens that I do have a Bucket List already. Of course, I didn't call it a Bucket List - I just titled it - Things To Do Before I Die. I wrote it out on May 28, 1996. There are a whopping 155 items on the list. Yes, some of them have been crossed off. I won't list them all (that would just be plain crazy) - but here are a sampling (in no order of importance)
1 - Take an animal safari in Africa (Kenya or Botswana). Oh this is my heart's desire.
2 - Watch the Run of the Grunion
3 - See the Great Pyramids in Egypt
4 - Walk in the mud flats of Holland
5 - Float in the Dead Sea
6 - Tour inside the White House (I was "THIS" close, but it was closed the day we went)
7 - Learn to drive an 18-wheeler
8 - Walk the Great Wall of China
9 - Ride a Harley dressed all in leather (aka - be a Motorcycle Mama)
10 - Pull a tiger's tail for good luck.
No, my goals aren't lofty. And remember, this list of 10 is just the peak of the Iceburg. I know that some are unlikely to ever happen (Earn a Doctorate) and some were wild imaginations (run with the bulls in Argentina) and some, after 10 years I would NEVER even consider doing now that I have children (bungee jump).
And strangely enough, there is one thing I never put on my list that I have done - and that was have children. And, I think this has been probably one of my BEST things I've ever done.
Safaris are sooooooo much fun! Zimbabwe has some nice places if you can choke past the political problems (Wange reserve is beautiful...Vic Falls, omg - breathtaking). South Africa's Kruger is nothing short of amazing.
#8 would kill me. Have you seen how steep some bits are?!

Love your list...the safari would be grand...but I'd have to learn how to shoot!!! SHOOT a camera for award winning photos that is.
My Fun Monday is posted. I had a good time this week, voicing my opinions on Fun Monday.
Happy week to you.

They run with the bulls in Argentina? I thought that was just a Pamplona thing.

I'm a little scared of the tiger tail thing. I think he might eat you. Great list though! Kids weren't on my childhood list, but I am so very glad they made it to me regardless.

I love this post! I hope you don't mind if I link back and add my 10 things as well ;0)
Oh, and it sounds like you are a traveler at heart!

Great list. Seems to be doable, except that tiger thing. Scary.

I would love to walk the Great Wall of China!

If you ever live out your #1 dream, and you end up in the Serengetti (you really, REALLY should - it's amazing), let me know and I will send you information about the PERFECT lodge to stay in. Oh, this place is a little slice of heaven. It has become my happy place when I need to escape somewhere in my mind.

I would like to go on safari for Cape Buffalo, just to say I did.

Safaris by Karmyn. We would all sign up to go and you could make enough to finance yourself!
Great post.

I love those lists. I posted mine a while ago, and if I can ever get my husband to finish his, it'll get posted, too.

Hmmm...I forgot all about the grunion. I've gone several times when they were supposed to be there, but have never seen them. I think a beach party is more fun then slimey fish anyways!

You know, you could ride the Harley on the safari, the Great Wall, and through the pyramids.

Great list! I have Egypt & Africa on my list too!

Oh the safari sounds like fun! As for motorcycles, I was a harley baby. :0 My mom has a photo of me on one when I was barely sitting up age and I remember burning my foot on the muffler when I was real little.

Wow, I love your list! Ride a Harley dressed all in leather (aka - be a Motorcycle Mama), that's on my mom's list, not so much mine. But everything else sounds really great, especially the tiger's tail.

Karmyn: in response to your comment you left for me....I would if I had the monetary backing. I've so often thought of running for office.

Karmyn 1 & 8 are on my list. I'll pass on pulling the tiger's tail!

Safari dreams--how great! I was thrilled that a friend shared her photos of their up close and personals with the animals. Hope you get to see firsthand.

You've been talking about Africa ever since I can remember. I tell you what, I'll take the kids for a week so you can do it. :) There's something about "The Dead Sea"'s name that makes me think I should stay away from it. ha ha But I would love to see the rest of your list later! I love ya.
(by the way, the big thing you've done, that wasn't on your list, is the best thing EVER!!)

Great list I have done 3 and 6 and have to say they were great experiences.
Good luck with your list

I really like the idea of making a big list of things to do before you die. I may have to try that.
Great list. Good luck with that tiger.

Surely you'd need the good luck *before* pulling the tiger's tail?
