If I make dinner (which is most evenings) then he usually unloads and loads the dishwasher. In my mind, "loading the dishwasher" equates to "doing dishes". Therefore, all things must be washed, including pots and pans used during cooking.
For some reason, this does not reason with Dave. About 85%** of the time, he leaves the pots and pans unwashed and sitting in the sink. (as viewed by the picture) This is one of those teeth/tongue biting moments where I leave things unsaid to keep the sancity of our marriage and end up washing the pans myself.
These pans are NOT hard to wash. Since they are Calphalon, we won't wash them in the dishwasher. They are all nonstick and easily washed with soap and water. It takes an additional five minutes of time.
Dave believes I should be grateful that he cleans the dishes. I believe he should finish the job that he started. Dave thinks he is being very helpful. I think he is leaving me work.
And this is when we both decide it is time for the kids to wash the dishes instead.
** 85% is a good statistic, considering I can't use the words, "All of the time" or "Usually" or "Always"
