Pullet Eggs

We have a total of twelve chickens (and one less bunny than before, but that requires a post of its own);  five hens and seven pullets.

A pullet is a chicken under one year of age.  It's chicken madness at my house but so much fun.  Especially now that the pullets are laying eggs...cute little pullet eggs:

 

You can see the difference in size b/n the two little pullet eggs and the larger hen eggs.  They are sooooo cute.

They even cook up small!

*5 Barred Rock (brown egg layers)

*5 Araucana (green egg layers)

* 1 Buff Orpington (dark brown egg layer)

*1 Rhode Island Red (light brown egg layer)

That's a heck of a lot of eggs!! 

Ghosts of Laundries Past

Have you ever lost an entire load of laundry?   Have you ever lost an entire load of laundry and not even know it?   Have you ever lost an entire load of laundry for three whole years?

Well, I did.

Apparently, when our new gas dryer arrived three years ago, we quickly removed the old one and stuck it in the garage.....never bothering to open it up until a week ago.

While looking for a particular hose attachment, David decided to open up the old dryer and check.

No hoses, but beach towels and little girl clothes, size 3. (the cutest sun dress, short outfit, and panties)

Buttercup now wears a size 6.

From the looks of things we were either A) playing in the sprinkler during the summer or B) potty training.

Strangely enough, there were no socks.  That mystery remains to be solved.
