Terror Alert

  • Here’s what I think the truth is: We are all addicts of fossil fuels in a state of denial, about to face cold turkey. And like so many addicts about to face cold turkey, our leaders are now committing violent crimes to get what little is left of what we’re hooked on. kurt vonnegut

Great reward for a job well done! I think its great to get the kids to earn their treats, they appreciate them so much more when they pay for them themselves. Took me a long time to learn that, you are doing much better than me! LOL!

I think the pony is much more fun than another DS, there is plenty of time for that later (and she can always beg a turn from her brother).

I'm thinking of getting one of those.

Bless them both! And you and Dave for instillng some early finacial lessons! You gotta work for it!

Nintendo DS, Princess Horse - desire is in the eye of the beholder.

Ooooo, if I come weed your garden, can I get a princess horse too?!

That's a good lesson to learn young. Well done Jammin, you worked really hard to earn your money.
Buttercup so reminds me of Mollie when she was younger (she would have done something similar).

Hey, everyone needs a goal, regardless of whether it's a gaming system or a "mere" horse, right?

that's teaching them the value of the dollar...never too early to start...when i was little i saved for a bike for like a year!

Such a good lesson to teach your children! I don't give money for expected chores either!

Dear Karmyn. You've just made me remember that my mum used to make me clean the bathroom for $1 per week. Even 15 years ago this was slave wages! If I cleaned her ensuite, I got an extra 50 cents per week. I would never have been able to afford games!

That is awesome!! I always make mine save for the things they want too and offer up extra chores to help out.

I love the looks on their faces!! They are such beautiful children!

Woohoo, congrats Jammin'! The DS Lite totally rocks. Especially with Pokemon in it.

with those boots on he looks like pipi long stockings without the pigtails

Good for them!!
