Terror Alert

  • Here’s what I think the truth is: We are all addicts of fossil fuels in a state of denial, about to face cold turkey. And like so many addicts about to face cold turkey, our leaders are now committing violent crimes to get what little is left of what we’re hooked on. kurt vonnegut

A Coyote got my Brother.

While driving in the car yesterday, Buttercup suddenly broke the rare silence.  She had obviously been thinking very hard on something.

"If Jammin' got eaten by a coyote, there would only be me, you and Daddy."

"Um...yes," I said, "But wouldn't you be awfully sad?"

"No....because then we could always just play girl games."

I tried not to smile.  "But, Buttercup, wouldn't you be so sad?  Wouldn't you miss him?"

She thought for a moment.  "No, not really."

"Well, I'd be sad.  I would miss him terribly."

She gave a big sigh, "Well, mommy, you don't have to worry about it, because it won't really happen."

I think she's has inherited my ability to "dream what ifs."

Hmmm, if she thinks one brother is too many she's in for a nasty shock!

LOL! I was thinking along the lines of WT. Does she know that there is another brother coming along any day now?

I'd warm Jammin' not to "believe" her when she tells him to go out back for a big "surprise"....!

Or to eat anything she cooks!

:)

Ruh-roh Rastroh! She's not gonna be a happy camper in a few weeks, is she?

I have heard various versions of that same fantasy played out in my house too. Sigh.

That's a classic!

That's so cute in a mean sort of way but my son has often made crazy comments about death and I would think "what have I said to make him think these things?" They come with their own stuff mostly.

Nothing like sibling rivalry. I think my son would have been a great only child. He loves his sister only if he can control his sister. As soon as she has the slightest thought of her own, he wishes she was never born!

As I watch your count down get smaller I get so excited. :) Babies are just the best!

I think it's sweet that she likes to dream what ifs, just maybe the coyote could lick her brother instead of eat him?

Too funny!
