Clerihew are All Too True
Robin's poetry theme for May is the Clerihew, a form I've never heard of in my entire life - until I looked it up and realized I have been using this form of poetry for YEARS. I am a genius at making up rhymes using my kids name....and right now they love me for it and beg for more.
For instance: Buttercup's middle name is Grace...
My sweet little Buttercup Grace
sure has a sticky face
The dogs will have to lick her nose
I bet they'd rather lick her toes.
Or for Jammin'
Jammin' needs to clean his room
or I will have to get the broom
and sweep up all his lovely toys
and give them to some other boys.
Clearly, I am already a Master of this genre, so without further ado - here are my new originals using the themes that Robin laid down for this month:
In Honor of my upcoming Birth and BABY SHOWER.....
Marty Feldman was a Fright
tho' his comedy was out-of-sight.
But if my baby has his looks
I'll go eat up my genetic books.
In Honor of Mother's Day
Joan Crawford, my mother was NOT
but as a teenager I sure thought.
Now that I'm a mother too
I need to give her a big THANK YOU.
In Honor of Amanda's upcoming Birthday (May 20th)
Is Micheal Jackson's relationship with Janet
A normal one or off the planet?
All I know it can't be as fine
as the sisterhood I have with mine!
Now - go read some other name-dropping Clerihews at Robin's!

I am sooo surprised at how many people wrote these with apparent ease! These are GREAT, Karmyn (and I think my favorite's is Buttercup's :) ). Pregnancy must be inspiring!
Tomorrow's gonna be crazy for me, so I'm trying to get your present "wrapped" ;).

Oh, you're a poet
You just don't know it
So don't blow it
Indeed, would be unfortunate!

You rhyme much better than I could. Besides, you fit Michael Jackson into a poem. That in itself is amazing!

Love it!
Happy Baby Shower Day, my friend.
