Terror Alert

  • Here’s what I think the truth is: We are all addicts of fossil fuels in a state of denial, about to face cold turkey. And like so many addicts about to face cold turkey, our leaders are now committing violent crimes to get what little is left of what we’re hooked on. kurt vonnegut

Karmyn I'm delighted you found the syrup and made the flapjacks. I've actually lessened the cooking time as well and I prefer them slightly soft and gooey. All you have to do is remember the amount of oats in them (healthy) and forget about the rest of the ingredients (not so healthy).

P.S. My butt hates me too!

Your golden syrup comes in a jar ours comes in a tin.

I have to say that I always thought flapjacks were pancakes too. However I do know what Golden Syrup is, before we cold get maple syrup over here, we used to use it on our pancakes. If you want to go really hard core, try Treacle.

Ours used to come in tins, now it comes in plastic jars.

Golden Syrup? I've never heard of it... but I will definitely look for it at the health food store!! Is it a regional thing? Maple syrup is our staple here in the Great Lakes State!

Karmyn, oh, my....you had some FANTABULOUS lines in this post!!! "Drink a glass of milk or have sex"???? If I HAD been drinkin' milk, I'm quite sure it would've come out my nose at that precise moment. You're PASSIONATE endorsement has piqued my curiosity even more than Beccy's original post....between the two of you, I'm gonna have to try this little slice of heaven.

Except I might wait a few months, bathing suit weather is upon us, and I don't need nothin' for my butt to hate :/.

Hug your mama for me :).

ooh. yum.

enidd used to have it on porridge as a child. yum.

First I am going to get that recipe.

Second I am going to search for that nector of the Gods.

Then I'm going to make them, eat them and then skip the glass of milk. =)

Those look yummy, ummy, yummy! I think I'll hit the gym.

My friend in Scotland used to put it on bread, then smoosh some bananas on top and make a sandwich. Always grossed me out but he was a cyclist...needed his energy apparently.

Oh my goodness!!! My mouth is watering just from having read your post. Caramel, butter, smooth, sweet......yummy!!! Excuse me....I have to go track down this recipe.

Heaven in a jar....I love that line!

Like heaven!

Well, I'm from Vermont and I like real maple syrup, grown in the woods by real trees.

Does it come in a tube? OK, now I'm curious and will have to go looking for this new found treat. And, plan to try Beccy's flapjack recipe this weekend. Did she give us a calorie/carb count on these things/

I'm with enidd we had golden syrup on porridge when i was a child back in the 50's, it was also used for sandwiches (can't imagine eating that now far to sweet) but home made flapjacks wonderful.

Matt I brought back some maple syrup when I was in Vermont last year for my grandson (beccy's eldest) and it was a great success on his pancakes.

Mom and Dad said it was sinful. I am jealous. What a time to start a damn diet. They sound wonderfully fattening!!

Your to funny for words...hmm Looks like I must try this receipe... sounds yum.. and how can you not be interested in golden nector of the Gods? You make it soudn totally devine.. is that spelled right?

Oh, good God. Great ! Now I have to make these for sure!

Yes, Lyle's I'll have to be taking some over with me...

(JT's sweet tooth will destroy a little jar, I'll go for the tin.)
