Ian recently tagged me for a music meme. Instead, I've chosen to copy him and conduct a Year in Review.
We started the year off with a huge BANG. We spent New Year's 2006 with my dad and step-mom at their house on Lummi Bay, Wa. To welcome the new year in, my dad loaded his brass cannon, but misjudged the strength of the new powder. When the cannon went off it kicked-back further than normal and crashed into the patio table, causing all the champagne-filled crystal goblets to fall and break into a million pieces.
Oregon had unseasonable warm weather for a week- we reached 60°F degrees so spent TONS of time outside playing in the warm weather. My husband and I took the opportunity to plant peas in the garden. We also rooted for the Seattle Seahawks in the Superbowl. They were robbed, I tell you - robbed.
After a warm month, the weather took a turn to the cold and we received a snowy day early on. It lasted just long enough for the kids to make snowmen and actually wear their new snowsuits. (a rare event in Western Oregon!)
And I started blogging!!!!!
We also took our annual Tulip Festival trip.
A sad month - My uncle passed away after an 18month long battle with pancreatic cancer. He lived longer than the doctors had predicted, but still a heartwrenching ending for my aunt and cousins. Also - we had to deal with recitals, pouts, and naked butts.
We took our family vacation to Utah. A beautifully scenic state (just some odd people live there). Curlymop turned 2 and I got my two new best friends.
I think this was our busiest month by far. My sisters and I planned our parents 30th Anniversary. We attended a Czech Party at my in-laws AND we got our new Nikon D-50 due to my hubby's nefarious camping trip. And I reached my 100th blogging post.
My Buttercup turned 3 years old, we waited for leaves to fall, and told scary ghost stories to bring in Halloween.
I wrote a book for Nanowrimo and my children were neglected.
I turned 36 and watched my hubby turn 41. We ate too much, drank too much, and opened a gazillion presents. Buttercup was in heaven seeing her Uncle Bunny and I made the new switch to Typepad.
Happy New Year Everyone!!!!! And bring on 2007. I'm ready.
